I ... do not care how many humans become ghouls or how many lives are lost in this apocalyptic spectacle. People are smart. The city and its people will return with time. There is tremendous energy available to recover from loss. Death and destruction are needed. Just like cultivating a field. I cannot be there for the harvest, but... this destruction will have been meaningful.
